What is a Dream Home?
The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway program was created in 1991 by Dr. Donald Mack and conducted in Shreveport, LA . It is one of the largest fundraising programs for St. Jude nationwide and has raised $290 Million to date.
The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway involves selling a limited number of $100
tickets to win a brand new, single-family home in a local community. Each home has a market value ranging from $300,000 to $700,000+ and is constructed utilizing donated or deeply discounted products and services.
2025 St Jude Dream Home Hampton Roads
Wetherington Homes was honored to build and donate the 2025 Hampton Roads St Jude Dream Home in the Stoney Creek neighborhood in Southern Chesapeake. Partnering with St Jude allowed us to give back to an incredible organization and with the generosity of our subcontractors & national trade partners along will all of the people in the Hampton Roads that donated with their purchase of tickets we raised $1,550,000 to support St Jude on their mission to defeat childhood cancer.
Unlike other hospitals, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from charitable donors. St. Jude specializes in care for some of the toughest pediatric cases, all while investing in resources and technologies for cutting-edge scientific research. And families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.
